BIERTON TRAFFIC CALMING INFORMATION

A418 Aylesbury Road

Thank you for visiting this website.

P&S Plant and Construction Ltd has been contracted to undertake essential traffic calming works along the A418, from Mike Griffin Way down to the double mini roundabouts.

PROJECT SCHEDULE AND SCOPE

  • COMMENCEMENT DATE:
The project will begin on 5th of August.
  • NOTICEBOARD:
    • Works have been progressing in line with the phase 1 programme to deliver the traffic calming features between the Coppice Way roundabouts to Bierton with Broughton public footpath.
    • New build outs have been constructed which may increase congestion until traffic gets accustomed to the new layout.
    • Some of the traffic calming features cannot be constructed until a temporary road closure is permitted.
    • In the interim, temporary bollards will be utilised to replicate the permanent features.
    • Please be mindful that we may see an increase in congestion through the village as users become familiar with the new layout.
    • It is encouraged that users utilise Mike Griffin Way and Bellingham Way to avoid Bierton Village.
    • Traffic signals will be moving east towards St James Church at the end of September.
    • It is intended that the current traffic management will be in place until the end of November 2024.
    • Completion of the permanent installations will be confirmed on approval of the temporary road closure by Bucks Highways in due course.

Whilst every effort will be made to stick to our programme we cannot always guarantee these exact dates will be met. Experience has shown that no matter how much preparation is conducted there will always be unforeseen challenges in the ground once the digging begins. In such circumstances we will of course do our utmost to get back onto programme and we will conduct regular updates to this web page to ensure that you are fully informed of the current dates.
